February Tasks
Thank you for your patience while the museum closed in February to the public. We wanted time to complete some projects on our “To-Do List” without having our guests’ visits impeded.
Completed Tasks:
- Staff and volunteers trained in collections care. We assessed artifacts, wrote condition reports, photographed, labeled, wrapped, and placed them in storage.

- We updated our Native West gallery. It is our policy here at the museum to rotate artifacts every 5 to 10 years to maintain their integrity. New information was incorporated into labels and stored artifacts were selected and displayed.

- Maintenance projects completed included installing a new sump pump and water heater. Hand rails were adjusted to become more ADA-accessible. Finally our mobile shelving units received labels to denote artifact location in the database.
I think we can say that we used our time well during our February closure. Our winter hours continue until Memorial Day. Visit the museum to see our updates 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
