Johnson County Historical Society revamps its charter with the Wyoming
State Historical Society in recognition of the state society’s 60th
anniversary on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 6:30 p.m. at the Johnson County
Library. There will be a short program about the Jim Gatchell Memorial
Museum’s Cemetery Tours presented by Jennifer Romanoski and Pepper Williams.
Past, current, and new members of the local chapter are encouraged to
attend this meeting to sign the charter, enjoy a celebration and a short
program to inaugurate the county chapter. There will be Historical
Society Celebration playing cards and annual calendars available at the
meeting. Goals of the local chapter echo the state society goals for
programing, education, and appreciation of local and state history. The
statewide society is a nonprofit organization which provides an annual
trek, “The Annals of WY,” and a newsletter to its members.
Membership fees are $30 for single or $40 for joint membership.
