The Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum and the T-Rex Natural History Museum in Ranchester presented to the 2nd Graders are Meadowlark Elementary School yesterday. The Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum will open its doors on May 10, 2014. We will unveil or newly remodeled museum store, new offices, and out new exhibition “Untrammeled: 50 Years of the Wilderness Act through the Viewfinder”. This day will be a community day, hence free admission and refreshments!

The carpet was ripped up late last week and Bonds Construction came in this week to starting creating the walls for new offices and for store merchandise. The Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum is continuing the remodel of the museum store. We had a fixture sale last week for all the cases, displays, and racks that were part of the old store. The carpet should get ripped out Friday and then walls should start going up. Yesterday the Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum conducted the Neighborhoods program for the 2nd Grade at Meadowlark Elementary School. This is just one of the fun pictures we took of them matching historic photographs with present-day photographs of their neighborhood and learning about public art.
